Nepotism

Nepotism is based on favoritism granted to relatives in various fields, including business, politics, entertainment, sports, religion and other activities. The term originated with the assignment of nephews to important positions by Catholic popes and bishops.
Nepotism has been criticized since the ancient times by several philosophers, including Aristotle, Valluvar, and Confucius. For instance, the ancient Indian philosopher Valluvar condemned nepotism as both evil and unwise.

Nepotism exists everywhere not only in Bollywood. It exists in Business, Politics too. It is very natural for a Businessman's son to become a businessman and a politician's son to become a politician using his father's contacts.
Just because this is the show business and actors being the public figures, everyone is interested in their life. By making movies with the children of Actors, the directors and producers will be only paying back to their Actors who have given them life with super hits.

Over some days nepotism in bollywood have came to its extreme end. Nepotism is deep-rooted in India. It is not something that has recently started but has definitely increased in recent times. Nepotism is the basic practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives or friends especially by giving them jobs. This has been a legacy. It started years back with the kings and bishops who gave their powers or positions to their respected family members. This preferential treatment has not dissipated from any sector of India, be it politics or movies.

Recently in a famous interview, Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar “The flag bearer of nepotism”. But we can’t just accuse Karan Johar because there are many who are involved in nepotism. At least we know for a fact that Karan Johar has been quite vocal about him being nepotistic. Recently in his own chat show he claimed Ananya Panday daughter of renowned actor Chunky Panday, to be a product of his nepotism.

A matter of fact is that nepotism will continue in the future. We just have to accept the fact that there will be nepotism in all sectors of India. But there should be equal opportunities for everybody. We have seen that few new age actors like Vicky Kaushal, Ayushman Khurrana, Radhika Apte, Bhoomi Pednekar and several others are immensely talented without them being a product of nepotism.

There are star kids who are also very talented but at the same time we know that they have not faced any hurdles before making their way into the industry. It’s just that there has to be decisions taken on the grounds of Fairness and impartiality so that people get a healthy and unbiased work place.
